Job Summary
Technician/Advisor role at VIP in Rochester, NH requiring a blend of service-writing and installation technician duties. Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, consulting with customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, executing VIP processes to educate customers, and performing or supervising vehicle service tasks. The position emphasizes delivering a high-quality customer experience, teamwork, adherence to VIP procedures, ongoing training and certification (including LMS and vendor trainings), and achieving productive, billable hours. Candidates should have automotive servicing knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and ASE-related certifications with a valid driver’s license. The role spans counter service and shop technician duties with a standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek and non-exempt hourly classification.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
