Job Summary
Tech-Advisor at VIP ( Portsmouth, NH ) combines service-writer and automotive technician responsibilities. The role delivers VIP-approved customer experiences by educating customers on vehicle conditions using MPI inspections, performing required services per VIP standards, and maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Responsibilities include counter service, shop technician duties, completing LMS and vendor training, attaining and maintaining ASE and TIA certifications (BATS, TPMS), participating in training sessions, and meeting targets for customer engagement and billed hours. Strong communication, organizational, and automotive servicing knowledge are essential, along with the ability to work with management to uphold service standards, safety policies, and VIP processes. The standard schedule is a 5-day work week, 40 hours, with hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
