Job Summary
Tech-Advisor at VIP location in Old Town, ME, combines responsibilities of a Service Writer and Installation Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience and VIP-standard results. Responsibilities include assisting customers at the counter, educating them about vehicle condition using MPI inspections, taking work orders, performing services per VIP standards, completing LMS and vendor trainings, achieving high customer engagement and productivity, and maintaining safety, facility, and equipment standards. Requires Automotive servicing knowledge, strong verbal/written communication, organization, time management, and ASE certifications (C1, with P2/G1/A4/A5 recommended), plus applicable State Inspection License. Must be able to work a 5-day, 40-hour work week in an indoor service environment, with duties spanning service-writing tasks, shop technician work, and cross-training to perform duties for both roles.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
