Job Summary
Tech-Advisor delivers an exceptional customer experience by integrating service-writing and installation-technician duties to educate customers on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, advises on VIP processes, and drives execution of safety, training, and certification requirements. Responsibilities include serving customers at the counter, taking and completing work orders in the shop, daily communication with the team, maintaining facility and equipment, following safety policies, and training to perform duties across both Service Writer and Installation Technician roles. The role emphasizes achieving VIP program standards, achieving productive billed hours, participating in LMS and vendor trainings, and maintaining compliance with service codes and applicable regulations. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and time-management skills, and comprehensive automotive service knowledge are essential, along with ASE certifications and state-inspection licensing where applicable. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of performing duties in an indoor service environment with exposure to varying conditions and physical requirements. PayType: Hourly. Standard schedule: five days per week, 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related automotive service experience
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
