Job Summary
Tech-Advisor combines service writer and installation technician duties at VIP location in Merrimack. The Tech-Advisor must work effectively with the team to ensure safe operations, educate customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI results, and deliver an exceptional customer experience while meeting VIP standards. Responsibilities include prioritizing safety, assisting at the counter as a service writer, performing technician duties when needed, completing LMS training and vendor trainings, obtaining and maintaining ASE certifications (C1, P2, G1, A4, A5), staying connected with management through daily huddles and meetings, communicating effectively, and contributing to VIP programs. The role also encompasses facility and equipment maintenance, adherence to the service Code of Ethics and applicable regulations, and participating in ongoing training and store meetings to drive higher customer engagement and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication; Sound business sense; Ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and implement solutions; Strong organization and time management skills; Comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
