Job Summary
Tech-Advisor combines service-writing and installation- technician duties to educate customers about vehicle conditions, follow VIP processes to deliver a different and better customer experience, and perform required services on customers’ vehicles. Responsibilities include consulting with customers at the counter, taking work orders, completing services in the shop, maintaining safety and cleanliness of the facility, training in LMS and vendor programs, achieving productive billed hours, and coordinating with management to ensure compliance with service standards and policies. The role requires strong communication, organization, and automotive servicing knowledge, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality customer experiences.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
