Job Summary
Tech-Advisor role in Gorham, NH combines service writer and installation technician duties to deliver VIP customer experiences. Responsibilities include ensuring safety as priority, serving customers at the counter and in shop, educating customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspection, completing required training and certifications for Service Writer and Installation Technician, achieving higher engagement and billed hours, learning VIP processes, and maintaining facility and equipment to VIP standards. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety, VIP policies, and warranty/ethics guidelines; training includes LMS and vendor courses, plus certifications such as ASE (C1, G1, A4, A5) and state inspections. The position typically involves a 5-day, 40-hour workweek, in-person at the Gorham location, with duties spanning service advising, shop work, and ongoing learning across service operations.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organization and time management skills
- A comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
