Job Summary
Tech-Advisor (Technician/Advisor) at VIP in Ellsworth, ME combines service-writer and installation technician duties to deliver VIP customer experiences. Responsibilities include working at the counter to educate customers on vehicle conditions, taking and fulfilling service orders, maintaining safety standards, achieving VIP program and productivity targets, completing LMS and vendor training, and earning ASE/T.I.A. certifications (C1 Service Consultant, P2 Parts Specialist, G1 Maintenance and light repair, A4/A5) while coordinating with the Service Manager and team to ensure high-quality service and communication. The role requires strong communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and the ability to operate within a 5-day, 40-hour workweek, with hourly compensation.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
