Job Summary
Tech-Advisor works as both counter service writer and shop technician to deliver VIP customer experience. Responsibilities include advising customers on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, educating customers on VIP processes, taking service orders, achieving higher billed hours, maintaining safety and facility standards, and completing LMS and vendor trainings. The role requires collaboration with management, participation in daily huddles, achieving VIP program standards, and maintaining strong communication within the service team. The position emphasizes safety, compliance with service codes and regulations, and ongoing certification through ASE and vendor training to support automotive service operations.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license in state of residence
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- A4 – Suspension & Steering
- A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License required (where applicable)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication; analytical, prioritize, implement solutions; strong organization and time management; comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and industry
Desired Qualifications
- ASE Certification (C1 Service Consultant required)
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
