Job Summary
Tech-Advisor role at VIP (Tech-Advisor) combines service writer and installation technician duties to deliver VIP customer experiences. Responsibilities include prioritizing workplace safety, consulting with customers at the counter, educating them on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspection results, performing vehicle servicing as needed, completing LMS and vendor training, obtaining certifications (T.I.A basic BATS, TPMS, ASE), effective team communication, attending store meetings, and ensuring compliance with VIP processes and standards. The position requires strong communication, organization, automotive servicing knowledge, and a readiness to work 5 days per week (40 hours). Additional duties include facility and equipment maintenance, adherence to the service Code of Ethics, and participation in training and performance reporting.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
