Job Summary
Tech-Advisor role in Auburn, ME combines service-writing and installation-technician duties to deliver VIP program standards and customer-focused vehicle service. Responsibilities include consulting with customers at the counter, education on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, taking work orders as a technician when needed, maintaining safety, following VIP processes, and participating in LMS and vendor training. The position emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, achieving high production of billed hours, and adherence to service codes of ethics, regulatory requirements, and store-wide meetings. Requires ASE certifications (C1, with P2, G1, A4, A5 as options), a valid driver’s license, and relevant automotive certifications, with typical schedule of 5 days and 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
