Job Summary
Prepare in-depth financial data for refunds, invoices, recoupments, adjustments, and cash disbursements to ensure accuracy and organization. Complete moderately complex research using financial reporting systems to identify errors such as overpayments or misapplication of funds, then resolve inquiries from internal and external customers regarding billing and collections. Provide supervisors with daily, weekly, and monthly summary reports of accounting activities while assisting less experienced clerks as needed. This Technician, Accounting III role supports the finance function at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina's CGS subsidiary, which manages government contracts for over 20 million Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
- Associate's degree in Accounting/Finance plus 2 years of experience supporting accounting or financial operations
- 4 years of experience supporting accounting or financial operations
- Good oral and written communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong business math skills
- Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Claims Processing and HIGLAS, highly preferred
