Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems, troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines, and adjust transfer switches. Install and test new generator units while responding quickly to jobsites for emergencies. Complete and submit work orders, prepare accurate repair quotes, and follow safety requirements including proper PPE use. This role offers a competitive hourly rate plus overtime, a company truck, fuel card, and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching. You will work in environments with exposure to extreme weather, moving mechanical parts, and potential electrical shock. Experience with Kohler Power Systems is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-5 years or more of generator experience
Desired Qualifications
- Technical School Certificate or Military training
- Experience with Kohler Power Systems
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional customer service skills
