Job Summary
Diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems including transmissions, heavy-line repairs, and engine overhauls while performing brake, fluid, and tire services. Educate customers on preventive maintenance, document all work and safety recommendations, and road test vehicles as needed. Partner with the Center Manager on daily scheduling and ensure the shop remains organized and vehicles are kept clean. Maintain accountability for all tools and comply with federal and state safety regulations. Requires five years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to work in cramped spaces and fluctuating temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Five(5) plus years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
- Valid Driver's License
- State Emission Certification- if applicable in your state
- State Vehicle Inspector Certification- if applicable in your state
- Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked-up automobile or a lower bay
- Upper body strength and stamina to effectively use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to make sure that fasteners are properly secured
- Fine motor skills to be able to work with small fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers
- Vision: Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails
- Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures
Desired Qualifications
- Current ASE Certifications are a huge plus in this role
