Job Summary
Perform complex mechanical repairs and diagnostics including transmissions, heavy-line repairs, engine overhauls, brakes, and cooling system maintenance. Diagnose vehicles based on customer complaints, execute fluid exchanges, tire repairs, and additional services while educating customers on preventive maintenance. Partner with the Center Manager on daily scheduling, document all work performed, road test vehicles, and ensure shop areas remain clean and organized. Maintain accountability for store-owned tools, comply with safety regulations, and participate in organization-sponsored training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Five(5) plus years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
- Valid Driver's License
- State Emission Certification- if applicable in your state
- State Vehicle Inspector Certification- if applicable in your state
- Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked-up automobile or a lower bay
- Upper body strength and stamina to effectively use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to make sure that fasteners are properly secured
- Fine motor skills to be able to work with small fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers
- Vision: Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails
- Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures
- You will be required to sign a contract with our uniform policy and procedure plan
Desired Qualifications
- Current ASE Certifications are a huge plus in this role
