Job Summary
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, performing advanced repairs on pumps, generators, and HVAC systems. Scope customer needs and provide solutions, leading team members in equipment repair when the Shop Foreman or Service Manager is absent. Read and interpret electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to produce hand-drafted modifications while maintaining EPA Section 608 universal certification. Requires 5-7 years of experience with Pump & Power equipment and mastery of diesel, compressor, and air treatment systems. Base pay ranges from $27.07 to $38.90, with opportunities for career advancement within Sunbelt Rentals' fastest-growing rental division.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience with repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment
- EPA section 608 universal Certification
- Advanced understanding of refrigeration (EPA Certified)
- Advanced knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater and Shoring
- Possesses an understanding of diesel equipment, generators and air compressors
- Mastery of load bank repairs
- Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and “across the line” motor starting
- Factory diesel, generator, compressor, HVAC training
- Able to read and understand electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic flow schematics
- Ability to produce hand drafted schematic modifications
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more
- Ability to work indoors/outdoors when required by the job
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of electrical engines and controllers
- Advanced understanding of dehumidification equipment from CDI and munters
- Advanced understanding of compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/aftercooler)
- Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and “across the line” motor starting preferred
- Ability to read and understand electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic flow schematics with ability to produce hand drafted schematic modifications preferred
