Job Summary
Perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas while adhering to dealership and factory standards. Execute work outlined on repair orders with efficiency, communicate with the parts department for needed components, and save or tag warranty parts as requested. Document all performed and recommended work, road test vehicles when required, and supervise apprentice technicians. Maintain shop cleanliness, ensure customer vehicles are kept clean, and account for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Report machinery defects, safety issues, and changes in vehicle condition immediately to the service advisor or supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Strong understanding of the service drive
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Pass drug testing, MVR/Insurability, background investigation/interview
