Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors within the Santa Fe Springs service center. Troubleshoot equipment failures independently or in teams while setting up and operating machinery in the shop. Calculate nominal and effective tonnage requirements, read schematics, and execute inspections and repairs based on customer specifications. This full-time role includes potential overtime, weekends, and an annual bonus program with a pay range of $41.00 to $53.00 per hour. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- 7+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
- Experience with reading and knowing schematics
- TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs
- Availability to work the assigned schedule
- Availability to travel to work locations (if needed)
- Availability to be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
- Ability to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
- Good finger dexterity to manipulate small items
- Functional hand-eye coordination
- Functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
- Ability to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment
- Ability to pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment
- Ability to lift (60 lbs)
- Ability to push/pull (80 lbs)
- Ability to carry (60 lbs)
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to combine climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs)
- Ability to stoop, kneel and squat
