Job Summary
Mold Technician 1 responsible for molding machine setups, start-ups, operation and shutdowns, and performing routine quality checks including 1st/last piece inspections. Performs basic troubleshooting of machines and robots, maintains mold/equipment function, and assists with operator/utility tasks. Works under supervision with progression training across Level 1–3 Mold Tech roles. Requires adherence to safety procedures, use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and completion of daily production paperwork. Must meet physical requirements (lifting 60 lb, crane license), have visual acuity for programming, and pass DAT Mechanical Reasoning and Wonderlic assessments. Location: Kalamazoo, MI; in-person shift. Training pathway spans Level 1 Side Load, Level 1 Top Load, Level 2, and Level 3 milestones with defined timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum score in the DAT Mechanical Reasoning Test
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select (Traditional score of 16 on the Cognitive portion)
- Meet the physical requirements for the position (standing/walking for the shift, able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly)
- Must be able to wear steel-toed footwear
- Must be able to meet requirements for crane license
- Able to perform with a torque wrench (up to 150 ft-lbs)
- Able to work around a magnetic field
- Agreement to complete all post-hire required training
