Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic communication systems including VOIP, SIP, and networking equipment to ensure minimum downtime and maximum performance. Perform final hookup and programming for new jobs, test and document system readings, and update customer files. Troubleshoot and repair electronic components, read wiring diagrams and schematics, and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Respond promptly to service issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and train customers on equipment usage. Manage onsite representation when the Project Manager is unavailable, track time sheets and inventory, and handle on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis.
Required Qualifications
- A two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1+ years related field experience
- Knowledge and experience in the procedures, installation, testing and troubleshooting of equipment/systems
- Ability to install a project from engineering documents with minimal assistance
- Ability to manage small to large projects with little supervision
- Minimum: High school graduate
- Must be able to read and write at Basic English proficiency
- Must be able to compute basic math functions without difficulty
- Can read CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams
- Has solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory
- Is proficient with PC
- Has proven aptitude in simple engineering and construction
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Achieve proficiency/certifications of SWC pro-cuts
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation
- Valid and current driver's license
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers
- Some light lifting of objects up to 50 lbs is required
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications
- Cisco and Microsoft certifications
- Associate degree in Electronics, IT or Computer Programming
- NSCA CEST Certification
- NICET certification
- RCDD and factory training
- Formal instruction in basic electronics/electrical theory
