Job Summary
Gas Leak Survey Technician (Tech 1) performs detection and evaluation of natural gas leaks using specialized equipment, classifies leaks per guidelines, and maintains detailed field records. The role is highly autonomous and field-based, requiring outdoor work in varying conditions and environments, with duties including safety reporting, public interaction to convey safety information, equipment calibration/maintenance, and ensuring survey data is accurately entered into handheld devices. Work involves operating in outdoor terrain along streets, highways, and residential areas, with potential for overtime and travel; benefits include paid training, medical/dental/vision, 401K, and company-provided vehicle and PPE.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Proficient with technology (smartphones, tablets, GIS software)
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day carrying 25 lbs.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check; subject to DOT random testing
- Ability to pass Operator Qualification (OQ) testing during training
- Driver eligibility maintained as essential function for field operations
