Job Summary
Technical Writer needed to own and improve OptiTrack product documentation. You will create, maintain, and improve customer-facing docs (user guides, knowledge base, release notes, installation guides, troubleshooting resources, SDK/API/docs) and internal docs (support procedures, engineering processes, training materials). Collaborate with engineering, support, QA, product management, and marketing to document new products, features, workflows, and best practices; translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise material; manage documentation repositories and workflows (GitBook, Confluence, Jira); ensure accuracy, consistency, and security/privacy alignment with product releases; contribute to style guides and knowledge-management practices; produce supporting visuals and multimedia content when appropriate. Occasional travel may be required. Requirements include 4+ years of technical writing experience, ability to document complex technical products, strong communication, and proficiency with GitBook/Confluence/Jira and Git. Familiarity with motion-tracking workflows or 3D applications is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of technical writing or related experience
- Experience documenting software, hardware, or other complex technical products
- Strong written communication skills and extreme attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and technical subject matter experts
- Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., GitBook, Confluence, Jira)
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
