Job Summary
Gather technical information from system engineers, coordinators, and trainers, then write, update, and review documentation in XML format including maintenance instructions, fault-finding guides, and driver manuals. Participate in customer and internal meetings to validate requirements, translate and proofread content in Swedish and English, and create technical illustrations. Administer document revisions and support the team by proofreading colleagues' work, ensuring all materials align with real operational workflows and customer-driven validation criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting
- Relevant education in technical documentation, information design, engineering, or a related field
- Alternatively, equivalent work experience, such as maintenance technician
- Experience in technical work within automation, rail, aviation or similar industries
- Experience as a technical writer, information designer, or communicator
- Excellent proficiency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with railway vehicles
- Knowledge of Arbortext XML, content management systems (CMS), and scripting
- Understand how customers actually use documentation in the field
- Align documentation with real operational and maintenance workflows
- Understand and implement customer-driven validation and acceptance criteria
- Translate customer use cases into document structure, content depth, and usability
- Ensure the documentation is technically correct, safe, and configuration-aligned
- Support documentation acceptance during testing, commissioning, and final delivery
