Job Summary
Serve as the liaison between internal customers and support service providers, coordinating document production, technical content, and publication standards. Edit, proofread, and oversee the creation of user manuals, technical manuals, online help systems, and training materials while ensuring compliance with company style guides. Manage graphic design, typing, and document processing to support timely, cost-effective publication assembly. Communicate project status to clients, adjust workloads, and request additional resources based on requirements. Compile information from multiple sources to improve document cohesion and provide research, writing, and design support to internal clients. Oversee communication platforms including web-based tools, survey utilities, and SharePoint sites, while assisting with tabulation and analysis of survey data.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technical writing, editing, documentation, publishing, communications, or a related field
- Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document-development skills
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple documentation or publication projects
- Strong ability to organize information from multiple technical and business sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy and quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer requirements
- Experience working collaboratively with technical professionals, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams
- Experience in writing and putting together a newsletter
- Being able to convey technical material in a concise understandable manner
- Being highly organized and able to plan ahead
- Candidate that has creativity, brainstorming capabilities, and graphics work
- Must be a team player and willing to write as well as assist with other projects
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with engineering terminology
- Experience developing technical documentation for engineering, utility, energy, safety, or industrial environments
- Experience developing user manuals, technical manuals, training materials, reports, and web-based content
- Experience with document-production workflows and publication standards
- Experience with SharePoint or similar content management platforms
- Experience compiling reports and working with survey data
- Knowledge of corporate style guides, document standards, and quality-control processes
