Job Summary
Technical Writer needed for a 30-month HBITS IT Services contract with the State of New York. Responsibilities include drafting and developing software documentation and IT operations documentation; breaking down complex information for clear, accurate, and consistent user guidance; conducting research and information gathering through document analysis and stakeholder/SME interviews; using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) to support documentation; managing documents and creating diagrams/charts; collaborating with cross-functional teams (developers, analysts, operations, customer support) to ensure aligned documentation; reviewing and testing content, incorporating feedback to improve usability and accuracy; applying industry-standard technical summary and reporting techniques; degree required (Bachelor’s).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 48+ months experience drafting and developing technical writing across software documentation, business processes, and IT operations
- 48+ months experience breaking down complex information for the user
- 48+ months experience in research and information gathering including document analysis and interviewing stakeholders and SMEs
- 60+ months experience utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio) to support documentation development and delivery
- 36+ months experience in document management and creating diagrams, charts, and visual aids
- 36+ months experience working independently and with cross-functional teams
- 36+ months experience reviewing and testing documentation and incorporating feedback for usability and accuracy
- 36+ months experience utilizing industry standard technical summary and reporting techniques
