Job Summary
Technical Training Instructor to support a premium Automotive OEM at the OEM training facility in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities include preparing workshops and vehicles for experiential learning; facilitating training workshops for dealership technicians to improve diagnosis and repair competencies; maintaining the Regional Training Facility, tools, student guides, literature, vehicles, and training center; verifying learner understanding via competency-based training; identifying additional training needs from feedback and assessments; maintaining attendee training records in the learning portal; collaborating with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership teams to achieve goals; performing light to medium lifting in the repair shop; traveling to additional locations as required; assisting in development of technical training curriculum and scheduling; enhancing instructional skills and knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic technology; complying with health and safety standards; maintaining shop cleanliness and 5S standards; maintaining professional relationships with customers and suppliers; operating and using workshop equipment to standard; protecting company vehicles; and having a focus on automotive diagnostics and training delivery. Qualifications include 6+ years in automotive technical repair/diagnostics, 3+ years training OEM dealership technicians, OEM Master or ASE Master certification, ability to read mechanical drawings/electrical schematics, classroom facilitation skills, strong communication, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, valid driver’s license, and knowledge of Microsoft Office. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Automotive Technology is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics
- 3 or more years of work experience training OEM dealership technicians
- Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master technician)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Automotive Technology a plus
- Ability to read, interpret and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong classroom facilitation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Charismatic personality and passion for adult education
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) a plus
- Strong collaboration with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership teams
- Ability to travel and train at additional locations
