Job Summary
Technical Trainer for electric transit buses and trucks, delivering in-person and virtual training across multiple locations. Lead training on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, battery management, propulsion, and charging infrastructure; develop and update training materials; provide on-site support and hands-on demonstrations; assess participant progress; build strong client relationships; coordinate travel and ensure safety and regulatory compliance for high-voltage systems. Travel approximately 50%–75% with nationwide assignments; role based in Pasadena, CA, onsite with local travel flexibility. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree or equivalent, at least 5 years of hands-on electric transit bus experience, and strong communication skills; CDL Class A and prior transit experience are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, automotive technology, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with electric transit buses (electrical systems, propulsion, battery management, charging)
- Experience in technical training or mentoring preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 75% across the United States
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues in transit bus systems
- Knowledge of safety standards and high-voltage systems
- Bonus: CDL Class A license and prior transit industry experience
- Software proficiency with diagnostic tools and MS Office applications
