Job Summary
Lead Trading Standards enforcement for the private rented sector by implementing and enforcing the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and associated legislation. Conduct investigations and compliance checks on letting agents to protect residents and improve borough standards. Support Housing Regulatory Services teams with statutory powers while managing a varied caseload and prioritizing work effectively. Communicate regulatory requirements to diverse audiences and produce detailed reports. This fixed-term role requires strong analytical skills and experience in consumer protection or housing law.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience conducting investigations and enforcement within a regulatory environment
- Strong working knowledge of consumer protection, housing, and / or related legislation
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Confidence in explaining legislation and regulatory requirements to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise work effectively
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to adapt to technology quickly
