Job Summary
Technical Tax Reviewer is the senior owner of the tax review process with no people management duties, offering direct sign-off authority on complex returns across high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, trusts, and estates. The role is fully remote within the United States, with a base of $150K plus a 10% annual bonus, plus benefits. The ideal candidate holds an active CPA or EA license, has 15+ years of tax experience emphasizing review, and is proficient in CCH Access or ProSystem fx/UltraTax. Responsibilities include owning the end-to-end review workflow, providing direct feedback to preparers, and maintaining a technically interesting book of work. Preferable experience includes international or expatriate tax, offshore-team review, and background in a wealth-management setting (RIA or family office). Additional qualifications like MST/LLM in Taxation are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA or EA license (current, not lapsed)
- 15+ years of tax experience with heavy emphasis on review
- Independent proficiency in CCH Access or equivalent (ProSystem fx, UltraTax)
- Strong partnership return competency — step-ups in basis, special allocations, multi-state K-1s
- Comfortable giving direct feedback to preparers without escalating through management
