Technical Talent Lead
On-siteLondon, England, United Kingdom or Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Job Summary
Technical Talent Lead responsible for end-to-end technical and research recruiting to attract and hire research engineers, ML scientists, platform/software engineers, and related roles. Shape recruitment strategy, systems, and employer brand; partner with research, engineering, and People teams; own the candidate journey from initial conversations with hiring managers through sourcing, interview design, processing, and offers; drive global sourcing, pipeline development, and data-driven decision making to hire high-impact technical talent that advances frontier AI and biology research.
Required Qualifications
- Strong track record of full-cycle technical recruiting, ideally in-house at a frontier AI lab, a deep-tech company, or a high-growth startup where recruiters are treated as trusted partners rather than order takers
- Experience nurturing a global network of world-class talent and proven success hiring hard-to-find people: ML researchers and research engineers, software and platform engineers, and ideally scientific talent at the intersection of AI and biology
- Advanced sourcing skills: ability to identify and engage passive candidates who are not looking, build pipelines from a standing start, and use referrals, events, and creative outreach
- Ability to act as a consultative partner: develop hiring strategies alongside leaders, calibrate searches properly, and manage expectations across the business with clear, data-backed insight
- Ownership of the whole candidate journey from launching a search through interview design, guiding candidates, and offer negotiation; ensuring the process feels considered, fair, and fast
- Ability to improve processes across the recruitment lifecycle, report on pipeline and funnel, and use data to tell better stories
- Strong sense of employer brand, including running events, content, and outreach that strengthen reputation in the AI and life sciences community
- Genuine curiosity about biology and the mission; interest in solving problems at the intersection of AI and biology
- Low ego, collaborative instincts, startup mentality; comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats in a team
Desired Qualifications
- Enough familiarity with the technical and scientific domains we work in, such as distributed training, accelerators, genomics, or computational biology, to speak credibly to senior candidates.
- Experience setting up or improving hiring operations, including ATS, sourcing tooling, and reporting (for example Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter and Juicebox).
- Experience building a talent function from an early stage, or mentoring and managing other recruiters as the team grows.
