Job Summary

Technical Support Technician I provides technical assistance for the assigned HVAC product lines via telephone or e-mail from the Frederick, MD area, with responsibilities including troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment, site visits for troubleshooting, startup of equipment locally and abroad, factory training on product lines, and coordination with Sales, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to ensure customer satisfaction. The role involves documenting service and warranty transactions, minimizing service costs, testing return warranty parts, and maintaining technical communications with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Must be able to travel for on-site support and to work in both office and field environments, handling basic math, reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and customer specifications, and communicating effectively in English.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years trade school in HVAC/R or related areas
  • 5 years related experience in HVAC/R
  • Journeyman’s license in HVAC or ability to train for one
  • Type II EPA certification for handling refrigerants
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
