Technical Support Specialist, Ion Chromatography

Job Summary
Provide advanced remote technical support for Ion Chromatography, Sample Preparation, Liquid Chromatography, and Discrete Industrial Analyzer product portfolios by partnering with customers and Field Service Engineers to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and application issues using remote diagnostic technologies. Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams to improve resolution rates, support new product introductions, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Utilize Chromeleon Chromatography Data System for instrument control, method development, and troubleshooting while exercising sound judgment to manage multiple priorities independently. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years in analytical instrumentation, with up to 15% travel required. Required Qualifications
- Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience supporting analytical instrumentation
- equivalent industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related scientific or technical discipline
- Hands-on experience supporting Ion Chromatography (IC) and Sample Preparation (SP) instrumentation in a technical support, field service, or laboratory environment
- Experience using ChromeleonTM Chromatography Data System for instrument control, method development, data acquisition, and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills involving analytical instrumentation, hardware, software, and laboratory applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers and colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise
- Demonstrated ability to build customer confidence through active listening, clear communication, and effective remote troubleshooting
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across customers, Field Service, Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams
- Experience with Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals, CRM systems, and technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus
- Ability to travel up to 15%
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related scientific or technical discipline preferred
- Hands-on experience supporting Ion Chromatography (IC) and Sample Preparation (SP) instrumentation in a technical support, field service, or laboratory environment; experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific instrumentation is preferred
- Additional experience supporting Liquid Chromatography (LC/HPLC), Discrete Industrial Analyzer (DIA) systems, or other analytical instrumentation is considered an asset
