Job Summary
As a Technical Support Engineer for the Switching and Wireless Team at Fortinet, you will provide direct technical web and telephone support, troubleshoot wireless and switching products, analyze customer network and configuration information, and recommend corrective actions. Key responsibilities include managing customer communications, reproducing customer environments for troubleshooting, and providing customer education where needed. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desirable, along with experience in a technical support role and strong skills in networking and security.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a technical support role in a networking/security company or equivalent education
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of WiFi 802.11 networks, 4G LTE experience
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, L2/L3 switches
- Experience with security products such as firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, WIDS
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Extensive working knowledge of Windows, MACOs, UNIX or Linux
- Previous call center experience, preferably supporting data networking products and/or security products is desirable
- Strong English skills both written and verbal.
