Job Summary
As our Technical Support Engineer, you’ll manage incidents to meet SLA requirements, deliver outstanding technical support, stay current on emerging technologies, identify operational improvements, align activities with global standards, diagnose and resolve complex issues related to HID Global products, provide expert advice to senior staff, reproduce environments for bug reports, clearly communicate issues to Engineering, maintain timely case lifecycle updates, collaborate with customers and internal teams for efficient resolutions, lead major incident management initiatives, and participate in on-call rotation with compensation. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years of technical experience, strong knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies, AD/ADFS, SQL Server/Oracle in enterprise environments, Windows/Linux proficiency, expertise in .NET, programming in at least one language, cloud experience, and familiarity with various authentication, networking, and security technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent educational background accompanied by relevant professional experience
- Minimum of three years in progressively responsible technical positions
- Experience with Microsoft Server Technologies and consumer authentication
- Proven experience delivering large-scale .NET solutions utilizing SQL Server or Oracle databases in enterprise environments
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux distributions (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Active Directory and ADFS required
- Advanced skills in SQL Server administration, complex SQL query development, Oracle DB management
- Web application servers, networks, firewalls, databases, proxy servers, load balancers
- Programming proficiency in at least one language (Java, Python, C, Perl, JavaScript, Node.js)
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Familiarity with authentication protocols/technologies (FIDO, PKI, OAUTH/OAUTHII, OATH, OpenID Connect, TLS)
- API integration, Postman, advanced troubleshooting
- Certificate Authorities issue resolution
- Experience with dynamic HTML components (AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, XML, HTML)
