Job Summary
Technical Superintendent role provides end-to-end technical and operational oversight of LNG/LPG vessels, serving as the primary technical contact for Masters, Chief Engineers, clients, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include delivering ship management services, guiding safety, maintenance, drydock planning, critical equipment, and non-routine repairs; monitoring vessel machinery and performance to improve safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and operational results; developing and executing maintenance, repair, and drydocking plans within budgets; preparing and reporting technical and OPEX budgets; ensuring valid certifications and regulatory compliance; coordinating vessel visits, inspections, audits, and surveys; and coaching shipboard personnel with performance reviews and development discussions. Qualifications call for a Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields (or equivalent) and 3+ years in senior shipping roles or shore-based technical supervision, with LNG/LPG experience; leadership and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent, or a valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate
- Minimum of three years’ sailing experience as a senior officer, or three years’ shore-based experience as a technical superintendent within a ship management or owning company
- Sailing or management experience with LNG and LPG vessels is essential
