Job Summary
Technical Superintendent on cruise vessels responsible for safe, reliable, and cost-efficient technical operation. Oversees maintenance plans, budgets (OPEX/CAPEX), dry-dockings, and compliance with vessel certifications and regulatory changes. Serves as the link between ship and shore, coordinating with onboard teams and external stakeholders. Requires strong project management, negotiation and people-management skills, fluency in English, and deep knowledge of vessel technical requirements and marine regulations. Key duties include monitoring machinery performance, planning repairs, forecasting spare parts, ensuring timely reporting, and driving cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high vessel standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent, or Chief Engineer qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ sailing experience as a Senior Officer, preferably on cruise vessels, or Minimum 3 years’ shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent in cruise operations
