Technical Specialist - Seating - Climate Systems

Job Summary
Lead development and integration of seat climate systems (heating, ventilation, cooling, lumbar, and cushion‐suspension) for GM vehicle programs; coordinate cross‐functional teams, guide suppliers, and drive program milestones with emphasis on quality, safety, and performance. Actively develop technical requirements (SSTS/CTS/GMW), maintain core DFMEAs, create and manage BOM strategies, and support wiring harness integration and electrical control units. The role requires strong engineering judgment, data‐driven decision making, and collaboration across global teams; candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years post‐grad experience. This is a hybrid position based at the Warren Tech Center with on‐site expectations of at least three days per week and no relocation benefits. GM sponsorship for immigration is not provided for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
- Experience with seat-to-vehicle packaging and engineering
- Experience with seat internal packaging and engineering
- Experience developing lumbar and cushion suspension systems
- Experience with electronic modules and wire harness routing
- Understanding of electrical system requirements and system tradeoffs
