Job Summary
Technical Specialist – Nutrition will provide hands-on technical support to the implementation of nutrition-related interventions under the EpiC project, focusing on maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN), community-based nutrition, and integration with RCCE and MNCH components. Works with government agencies, civil society, and partners to strengthen nutrition service delivery, supervise field activities, monitor indicators, and contribute to planning, reporting, and learning. Responsibilities include designing and implementing nutrition activities per national guidelines; integrating nutrition actions into RCCE and MNCH platforms; developing SBCC materials on maternal diets, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and adolescent nutrition; conducting field implementation of core interventions; capacity-building and supervision of frontline workers; developing SOPs and job aids; coordinating partner activities; ensuring data-driven decision making; liaising with MOHFW/DGHS and other stakeholders; participating in coordination meetings; and assisting donor reporting and knowledge products. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Dietetics, or a related field
- Minimum 6-7 years of progressively responsible experience in implementing community-based nutrition and MIYCN programs, preferably in USG-funded projects
- Strong technical knowledge of maternal and child nutrition; Infant and Young Child Feeding practices; and nutrition in emergencies
- Proven experience in training, supervision, and capacity building of health workers or community volunteers
- Familiarity with national nutrition policies and service delivery structures in Bangladesh
- Skilled in data use for decision-making and program improvement
- Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills in English and Bangla
- Willingness to travel regularly to field locations
