Job Summary
Technical Specialist II to support the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Safety, Health, and Emergency Preparedness (SHEP). Focuses on supporting the functionality, security, and training around emergency management systems, specifically Blackberry’s AtHoc and Everbridge’s Visual Command Center (VCC). Interfaces with internal IT teams, third‐party vendors, and Treasury stakeholders to ensure tool compatibility, availability, and operational readiness during continuity and emergency operations. Responsibilities include providing technical support and troubleshooting for AtHoc and VCC, coordinating with SHEP and vendor stakeholders, managing user data and distribution lists, supporting exercises and real-time operations, drafting and updating system documentation, SOPs, training materials, and user guides, developing training sessions for Treasury staff and accountability officers, assisting in policy/protocol development, maintaining cybersecurity documentation including FISMA support and POA&M tracking, and representing Treasury in interagency technical forums related to emergency management tools.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of technical or IT-related experience
- Experience with Blackberry AtHoc and Everbridge Visual Command Center (VCC)
- Experience supporting enterprise software applications in government or secure environments desirable
- U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with at least three years of residency in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk background investigation (MBI/Tier 2)
- Must comply with HSPD-12 requirements
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to train Treasury employees and accountability officers
- FISMA audit support and POA&M tracking experience preferred
