Job Summary
Technical Specialist I-III in Transmission & Distribution (DATA) supports the development and maintenance of Oncor’s digital connectivity model for bulk power grid within EMS. Responsibilities include using engineering one-line drawings to create database and display representations of substations and transmission lines, developing SCADA definitions for RTU integration, updating CIM Studio connectivity, and ensuring topology changes are represented in EMS databases. Also responsible for designing/sequence display updates for RTU checkout and asset energization, supporting database synchronization between EMS, PDS, QAS, and PROD, responding to operator problem reports, testing code updates prior to production, and monitoring EMS database/display applications. Required capabilities include strong SQL and basic database administration, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with TMS users and interfaces. Education/experience levels span Tech I-III with progressive requirements; CIP certification is required for some roles. Location is Dallas, TX with an on-site remote option per posting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required for all roles.
- Tech I: Applicants with a 2 or 4 year technical degree related to Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering discipline are encouraged to apply.
- Tech II: 3 years of related experience; degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering encouraged.
- Tech III: 5 years of related experience; CIM modeling knowledge encouraged.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain an Oncor CIP Certification (Critical Infrastructure Protection).
