Job Summary
Review test results and function as a specialist in laboratory medicine disciplines, including send outs, toxicology testing, point of care testing, and coagulation. Manage quality control, update summaries, and write or revise procedures. Collaborate with managers, supervisors, pathologists, nursing services, and the laboratory director on patient care issues. Provide technical expertise and support the entire laboratory under the supervision of the Manager, Post Analytical Lab. Maintain current technologist licensure and ASCP or equivalent certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health science program or medical technology
- qualification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or an equivalent medical technologist
- current technologist license
- minimum of one (1) year of experience in the specialty area of the clinical laboratory
Desired Qualifications
- supervisor licensure under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute 61F-5
- demonstrated effective communication and listening skills
- demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and problems as they arise in the section
