Job Summary
The Technical Specialist Anatomic Pathology provides technical expertise and support for the Administrative Director in the Laboratory Information System (LIS), esoteric testing, departmental billing, continuous quality improvement, technical education of staff, and regulatory compliance across Anatomic Pathology areas including Cytology, Histology, Transcription, and Flow Cytometry. Candidates must have certification and experience specific to their technical specialty, as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The role involves travel between hospital facilities for coordination and implementation of new testing and instrumentation.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified as a technologist within their specialty
- Must qualify as a General Supervisor as defined under CLIA '88
- Must have at least four (4) years’ of experience in their technical specialty
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
- A high degree of technical and decision making skills is required
- Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with the values of Laboratory Sciences of Arizona
