Technical Specialist 2, Distribution Engineering

Job Summary
Execute routine technical activities and coordinate complex deliverables for distribution engineering projects. Provide technical assistance in specialized areas, apply knowledge to promote a safe work environment, and support projects within scope, schedule, and cost. Collaborate with design activities to review functional specifications, update single line diagrams, and manage material procurement while supporting QA/QC processes. Deliver technical support to field and construction groups, assist with process improvements, and present to work groups and management. This role requires working extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills.
Required Qualifications
- BS in a technical field from ABET-accredited college
- Two years of applicable experience or a combination of education and applicable experience
- Master's degree counts as one year
- General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services
- Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment
- Proven experience applying sound judgment to make decisions
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers
- Excellent team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments
- Problem-solving skills with proven ability to resolve engineering issues
- Mentor to junior team members
- Travels: Yes
- Percent of time: 30% approximately
