Job Summary
Technical Services Technician Level 2 is responsible for supporting PV corrective maintenance and repairs on SOLV Energy projects, assisting third-party repairs/repowers with technical support, and performing site testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and energized electrical work on a full-time jobsite in the Western Region with travel. Must follow safety standards, read electrical schematics, troubleshoot network/telemetry issues (including fiber optics), operate required tools (Ground Fault locator, IV Curve tracer, IR camera, megger, DMM), and produce required documentation and reports. Requires high school diploma or GED, ability to travel up to 80%, NFPA 70e safety certification, ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather, and a valid driver’s license. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Ability to travel 80% of time
- Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and symbols
- Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues including fiber optic cables
- Effective verbal and written English communication
- Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- CPR/First Aid training
- Equipment operator training and certifications (as applicable)
- Be able to pass SE safety training and related requirements
- Experience with electrical testing and associated tools (Ground Fault locator, Fiber optic testers, IR camera and thermography, DMM, Megger)
- Ability to work on a job site and collaborate with technicians and trainees
- Ability to prepare estimates and project bids (materials, hours, timelines)
- Knowledge of safety procedures and company/industry safety standards
- Ability to work on call, travel as required
