Job Summary

Technical Services Manager responsible for defining and leading the group manufacturing technology strategy across four UK sites, owning the asset lifecycle and maintenance strategy, and managing the end-to-end CAPEX portfolio. Lead CNC programming, tooling, and fixtures standardisation; drive New Product Introduction to ensure safe, robust, repeatable processes; establish and govern group manufacturing standards and governance; define routings, standard times, capacities, and process data within ERP (Microsoft AX/D365). Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and Design to ensure practical, embedded standards and design-for-manufacture. Ensure compliance with Quality, EHS, and rail industry requirements, uphold health and safety responsibilities, and role-model the company values. The ideal candidate has a degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering (or equivalent), proven CAPEX/manufacturing transformation experience in a heavy or complex manufacturing environment, strong CNC/tooling expertise, multi-site experience, ERP proficiency, a data-driven problem-solving approach, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-site initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience) in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering
  • Proven experience leading CAPEX delivery and/or manufacturing transformation in a heavy/complex manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical expertise in CNC machining, tooling strategies, and machine capability
  • Experience working across multi-site manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft AX/D365 preferred)
  • Structured, data-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and site teams without direct authority
  • Technically credible leader able to set standards, challenge constructively, and drive alignment
  • Clear communicator who can align group strategy into site-level execution
  • Resilient and collaborative in a regulated, safety-critical manufacturing environment
