Job Summary
Lead the Technical Services Department by developing a team of Technical Service Engineers to deliver high-quality technical support, product demonstrations, and application guidance to customers. Resolve complex issues through remote consultations and Webex sessions while assisting with system installation, commissioning, and operation both remotely and on-site. Establish service standards, prepare competitive technical materials, and represent the client at industry conferences such as NASPI and IEEE PSRC. Provide direct technical support to Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to ensure business development initiatives succeed. This role requires 15+ years of protection relay experience and involves up to 25% travel within the US/Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years' experience working with numerical relays and recorders
- 15+ years Protection Relay experience
- Previous experience in leading and developing a team
- Strong professional presentation skills, both written and verbal, which include the ability to hold difficult discussions with customers or employees to protect company interests
- Working knowledge of electric power systems and practices and philosophies
- Working knowledge of protective relay applications at utility or engineering firms and industry practices
- Experience with EMTP, load flow, and short circuit studies
- Knowledge of advanced communication protocols and communication system architecture
- Expert knowledge of system protection, integration and automation applications
- Strong people manager with excellent ability to take charge, understand business needs and manage workflow for the department
- Demonstrated customer satisfaction by providing top-quality customer service and problem-solving to current and potential customers and providing technical support to the Sales team
- Have developed and maintained an expert level of technical expertise in electric power system protection and/or automation (specifically relays and recorders)
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Must be able to pass a drug screen & criminal background check
- Travel Requirement: Up to 25% within the US/Canada Internationally
- Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Onsite
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Utility companies, Consulting, and engineering companies would be an advantage
