Technical Service Specialist

Job Summary

Answer inbound telephone calls, emails, and texts to resolve customer service and support issues while researching technical problems using engine and controller software. Provide repair and maintenance help, warranty assistance, and on-site service for generators and air compressors, including preparing parts for service setup. Develop new service processes, track all customer calls, and communicate technical information clearly. Maintain the warranty system, assist other departments with technical support, and occasionally travel up to 5% for service work and training. Be available for afterhours call coverage on a predetermined schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be based in the United States
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
  • Mechanical specialty training
  • Equivalent hands-on work experience
  • Trade school certification with a focus on engines or mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of generator controllers
  • Experience with generators and air compressors
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
  • Proficient in the safe use of a digital multimeter
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Including circuit diagnostics
  • Available for afterhours call coverage on a predetermined schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Trade school certification with a focus on engines or mechanical systems preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
