Technical Security Application Engineer, Secured Spaces

Job Summary

Lead the technical design, commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Access Control Systems (ACS) for new construction, renovations, and existing accredited spaces in accordance with ICD-705, IC Tech Spec v1.5.1, and 32 CFR 117.15. Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and gap analyses to produce sensor coverage drawings, riser diagrams, and submittal packages for Accrediting Official review. Author technical standards, bills of material, and standard operating procedures for UL 634, UL 639, and UL 2050 installations. Manage hardware platforms including Lenel OnGuard, Genetec, and Bosch; coordinate final acceptance testing, false alarm investigations, and corrective maintenance programs. Drive cutover from integrators to operations, ensuring as-built documentation and encryption handovers. Maintain semi-annual IDS test programs and serve as the technical point of contact during AO inspections and re-accreditation reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive security experience, preferably within a multi-national corporation or Federal entity
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce technical security policies and procedures for classified environments
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and construction teams
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and making sound decisions in challenging situations
  • Existing active SECRET clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technical security systems, with a strong focus on access control, and intrusion detection
  • Professional certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
  • Strong project management skills and extensive experience with large-scale technical security system implementations and upgrades
  • Extensive experience in vendor management, including contract negotiation and performance oversight for security integrators and suppliers
  • Existing active Top Secret Clearance
