Job Summary
The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is responsible for selling and supporting products within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role includes identifying client opportunities, collaborating with Account Managers, demonstrating product expertise, and enhancing customer relationships. Key responsibilities involve supporting the sales funnel, conducting technical visits, managing accounts effectively, and maintaining insight into market trends. Qualified candidates should have a strong sales background, ideally in the analytical instrument market, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively. A bachelor’s degree is required, along with a proven track record in sales.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years consistent track record of sales experience in analytical/relevant instrument market and running complex, high-value accounts preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
- Commercial mentality, strongly motivated by desire to win new business, with validated steadfast pursuit of opportunities
- Ability to travel to customer locations up to 80% including overnight travel
Desired Qualifications
- Strong market knowledge and business insight of industry sector, markets and key trends preferred
- Experience in conducting seminars and presentations
- Fluent in English and other languages as needed in the assigned region
- Demonstrated commercial excellence working in matrix environment
- Ability to explain and sell the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s scientific product portfolio
