Technical Sales Representative - Power Management

Job Summary
Solicit and obtain orders from power distribution equipment resellers, contractors, and NETA service shops by interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, and developing accounts. Analyze competitor trends to identify sales opportunities, research potential accounts, and prepare quotations. Close new accounts via telephone, fax, and email inquiries while filling orders by transferring them to fulfillment and managing delivery dates. Maintain quality results by recommending improved policies and update job knowledge through new product studies and educational opportunities. Work flexible hours to respond to client emergencies and accept ownership for completing new requests.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited 2-year technical college preferred, focus on electrical power, or similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production or NAVY Seabee preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business, educational focus in technical disciplines also preferred
- Must be able to work in office
- 2+ years power distribution equipment sales experience or 5+ years of technical sales experience in an industrial, production or large component environment
- Must have intermediate computer skills including email, internet, data entry and MS Excel; experience with CRM: NetSuite a plus
- Must be willing to work flexible hours required to respond to client emergencies
- Candidates for this position are required to complete a pre-employment drug screen successfully
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of industrial mechanical engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, or diesel equipment beneficial
- Working knowledge of power systems, power circuit breakers and other switchgear apparatus preferred
- Prefer experience reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams
